General Directions to Wichita State University

FROM THE SOUTH :

Coming from the south on I-35, take the Wichita South exit (Exit 42) onto I-135.  Stay on I-135 North (DO NOT take I-235 north) and take the 21st Street exit (Exit 9).  Turn RIGHT (East) onto 21st Street.  Wichita State University is approximately 1 ½ miles east of I-135, at the southeast corner of 21st and Hillside Streets.  To enter campus, continue on 21st Street past Hillside, then turn RIGHT into campus at Yale.

FROM THE NORTH :

I-70 connects to I-135 approximately 90 miles north of Wichita at Salina, Kansas.  Exit I-70 onto I-135 South.
Southbound on I-135, take the 21st Street exit (Exit 9) and turn LEFT (East) onto 21st Street. Wichita State University is approximately 1 ½ miles east of I-135, at the southeast corner of 21st and Hillside Streets.  To enter campus, continue on 21st Street past Hillside, then turn RIGHT into campus at Yale.

FROM THE WEST :

Coming from the west on US 400 (also referred to as US-54 or Kellogg Ave.), exit US-400 onto I-135 North.
Northbound on I-135, take the 21st Street exit (Exit 9) and turn RIGHT (East) onto 21st Street.  Wichita State University is approximately 1 ½ miles east of I-135, at the southeast corner of 21st and Hillside Streets.  To enter campus, continue on 21st Street past Hillside, then turn RIGHT into campus at Yale.

FROM THE EAST :

Coming from the east on US 400 (also referred to as US-54 or Kellogg Ave.), exit US-400 onto I-135 North.
Northbound on I-135, take the 21st Street exit (Exit 9) and turn RIGHT (East) onto 21st Street.  Wichita State University is approximately 1 ½ miles east of I-135, at the southeast corner of 21st and Hillside Streets.  To enter campus, continue on 21st Street past Hillside, then turn RIGHT into campus at Yale.

Directions to Heskett Center on WSU campus

REGISTRATION and many classes will be held in the Heskett Center.

After entering WSU campus on Yale Ave., turn LEFT at the stop sign, then take your first right into the Heskett Center faculty parking lot. You can pull right up to the curb (30 min. loading zone) to drop people off or to run into the Campus Police Building (the opposite--or east--end of the same parking lot), where you can request a parking permit. The entrance to Heskett Center is on the Southwest corner of the building (red building on map below).

With your parking permit, you may park in any "open parking" area on campus. Near Heskett Center, there is a small "open parking" area just south of the Heskett Center faculty lot (this lot fills up early), and a much larger "open parking" area just northeast of Heskett Center, across Perimeter Road (next to Eck Baseball Stadium).

The entrance to Heskett Center is on the southwest corner of the building. The Dance Program office is located in the lobby of the Heskett Center. Walk straight ahead as you enter the building; the Dance Office is on the left, past the stairs. To find the Dance Studios, turn right after you enter the building and enter the Heskett Center gym area. (You will need to show your WSU I.D., unless you are there for a performance, special workshop, or meeting with a faculty member.) The Dance Studios (including Litwin Dance Theatre) are near the end of the hallway, on your right.
